A playful identity symbolising the set table, dining and cooking, and a peek into the future of foodStrategy, Design, Logo and identityNordic Food in Tourism was a project under the presidency of Iceland in the Nordic Council of Ministers. On behalf of the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, the project was led by Iceland's Culinary Treasures(Matarauður Íslands) cooperation with Iceland Tourism Cluster(Íslenski ferðaklasinn) and Matís. The project was also supported by Icelandic experts, and other Nordic participants from Norway, Denmark, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Åland Islands, and Sweden. Future analyses, based on trendwatching, netnography and interviews with experts in the field, were conducted by Kairos Future tailored to the projects goal. Food experiences are an inseparable part of travel experiences wherever people might go, even whether the food factor is the sole purpose of the travel or not. That’s why it is important to talk about Food in tourism instead of food tourism or culinary tourism like we know it.The outcome of the project highlighted competitiveness of the Nordics, and promoted policy-making in regards of local culinary heritage in tourism built on the balance between demand and environmental awareness. The final conference for the project was held in Iceland on the 30th of September 2021.
